Interactive Canvas Instructions

At an outdoor wedding reception in May, I saw a few things that caught my attention.

The one that I was most intrigued about was an “Interactive Canvas” where the wedding guests would paint pre-stenciled designs on canvas using provided brushes and paint.

I was very interested to see how it turned out and to my surprise, it turned out very nice and I was surprised at the creativity of some of the guests.

Taking a big leap forward, I have begun using an online DJ business administration software program.

This will allow me to set up emails that will automatically be sent to keep my clients more informed, and best of all, it allows you to login and view your account info and administer most of the information on your own.

I have entered all of the upcoming events into the program and tried to enter as much as I can with what I have.

From there, you can login to your account (see enclosed sheet) and review info, make payments, fill out planners and timelines and make changes to times and addresses.

For those who have used the previous planning program and have created music lists and planning forms, rest assured that those are still there and I will keep that account going until all current lists have passed.

As I expand and update, the system will auto email I will also be using this system to send reminders, newsletters and updates, all via email.

When ready, you will be able to do your planning, timelines, music lists and more all from your account so stay tuned.

Baskin Robins Ice Cream Wedding Cake at Michiel's Fox Banquets in Appleton, WI

This summer also had a first, an ice cream cake.

Done by Baskin Robins in Appleton, it has secrets built in including dry ice transportation and glass lids. The lids are the key.

Each cake is sitting on an ice block and the cover keeps the cold air in.

The cakes were set up while I was setting up well before dinner and were just fine when served after dinner.

Candy bar table at The Wave, Appleton, WI

The Candy Bar is a simple idea.
Have a table set-aside that will be covered in various candy treats.

The first time I saw this, the couple had large bulk candy jars like you would find in a store (like a big cookie jar with an off-set opening and a chrome lid). In each jar something different. M&Ms, Skittles, dinner mints, peppermint patties, Whoppers and more. There were small scoops that you could scoop the candy out and put into red and white check paper trays.

The second time I saw the candy bar, there were large bowls and jumbo martini glasses with various wrapped candy (individually wrapped mini candy bars, tootsie rolls and so on). A neat addition was chinese takeout style containers that you could fill up and take back to the table.
